One More Week Until Family Festivities!

Hi, Everyone!

Well, today is Tuesday, July 29, 2014, and y’all know what that means—we’re just one week away from my family reunion!

From what Cousin Jade has told us, there’s gonna be nothing but sunny skies and warm weather by the time we get to Nashville, and y’all already know that I’ve packed my sexy sundresses. Hell, I even bought a peppermint stick sundress, but I’ll wear that one when I go back to Rust… hahaha! Anyway, everything is all set, and by this time next Thursday morning, I will be making a rather quick return to the South.

And while we’re talking about the South, I want y’all to know that I have kept in contact with my homegirl Ruby Red. Matter of fact, I invited her and her family to join in on the festivities with us; after all, family is not just centered around blood relatives. Well, the Hudspeths appreciated the offer, but they chose to take a raincheck until the next go-round. Ruby then made me promise that I would have some fun for her. As for Neo Theo, I hadn’t really talked to him since summer school, but I know I’ll get to holla at him when the fall semester at Rust begins.

Well, y’all, I had better close up this here blog post, but I will be talking to y’all real soon. Until the next time, take care and God Bless.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha

A Message for My Fans

Hey, Everyone!

Yes, I realize that my blog posts have been few and far between as of late, and I know that I’ve been MIA for quite a while now. Matter of fact, I know what some-a-y’all are gonna say:
“Natasha’s forgotten all about us. Natasha doesn’t care about us anymore. Boo-hoo-hoo, woe is me—Natasha done hit the big time and left us at the bottom.”
Okay, maybe y’all didn’t say that verbatim, but at the same time, allow me the opportunity to put your minds at ease. First and foremost, I did not forget y’all, nor did I stop caring about y’all. And as far as hitting the big time… well, let’s just say that I’ve got a few more years before that happens, but rest assured that when the time comes for me to hit the big time, I’m bringing y’all with me… some of y’all, anyway. I’m still young yet, but I do realize that there are people who actually wish ill will towards me. Though I haven’t run across any of these negative ninnies, I am not about to dwell on them, either. With that said, let me change my previous statement and say that only those who truly supported me will get to come along the ride with me to the big time.
Well, it’s no secret that I am getting ready for my upcoming family reunion, which is in two weeks’ time. I talked to Gramma Jewel this past Monday, and she pointed out that she is just about finished packing. Oh, Gramma Jewel don’t be messin’ around, y’all, but y’all kinda figured that out a long time ago. Anyway, we’re all excited because this is our first family reunion in three years, and we’re gonna have a blast—I can guaran-damn-tee it!
That’s really all of the news that I have for today. Incidentally, I do apologize that my blog posts are not as frequent as they once were, but when the time is right, I’ll be back to writing daily again. It’s just that a sista’s been busy ever since she’s returned home to L.A. last month… and then I gotta turn back around and go back to the South for so many reasons—I think I need to check my frequent flyer miles… hahaha!
That’s all for now, y’all. Take it easy!

Smooches,
Natasha

2nd Annual Sapphire Street Block Party

Hi, Everyone!

I promised y’all that I would be back, and I’m a woman who keeps her word!

Do y’all remember a blog post of mine from last year, in which I talked about my Gramma Jewel’s neighborhood hosting an inaugural block party? Well, after the success of last year, Gramma Jewel and her Sapphire Street Block Club have decided to make it an annual thang!

That’s right—on Saturday, July 26, 2014, the Sapphire Street Block Party is gonna raise the roof! It was unanimously decided that Sapphire Street will bring back the good ol’ days every fourth Saturday in July. And I think I told y’all how much fun I had last year, what with KCLD-FM on-air personality Bobby-H broadcasting live, and Mr. Chuck’s restaurant really showed up and showed out with his delicious Delta Burgers.

Last year, the inaugural theme was “This Is How We Do It,” which was inspired by a popular song by one Montell Jordan. Well, check this out, y’all: Gramma Jewel told me personally that this year’s theme was inspired by the song “Happy” by Pharrell, and she made it perfectly clear that the suggested theme was her idea. Gramma Jewel merely suggested the “Happy” song, and surprisingly enough, the rest of her block club unanimously agreed.

Yes, y’all—the theme this year is simply “Happy,” and according to Gramma Jewel, you can’t get no better than that!

Speaking of the Sapphire Street Block Club, this was the picture that they had taken last year. I find this picture to be really cute because Gramma Jewel’s boyfriend Mr. Hawkins is all up in the photo, just cheesin’! I remember Mr. Hawkins saying that he didn’t want to be in the picture on account of he’s not a Sapphire Street resident, but Gramma Jewel wouldn’t take “no” for an answer; she emphatically requested that Mr. Hawkins get in the picture along with the rest. Of course, Mr. D backed up Gramma Jewel’s request by reminding Mr. Hawkins that he was an honorary member, so it was all good.

And look at how Mr. Hawkins is just modestly cheesin’ away… hahaha!

Well, y’all, it looks like I gotta close up today’s blog post, but I’ll be keeping in touch with y’all. As you know, our family reunion is coming up next month, and I am so blankin’ excited on so many levels. Yes, I realize what I just said—I was very careful with my words… hahaha!

Until the next go-round, I’ll holla!

Hugs & Kisses,

Back Again With Another Blog Post, Y'all!

Hi, Everyone!

Didn’t I tell y’all that I was a busy little bee? Can you believe that this is the very first blog post that I have written in two weeks? And even more so than that, I am literally just a month away from my family reunion. In addition to that, I’ll be entering my junior year at Rust College immediately afterwards.

And speaking of my family reunion, here is the latest update: We’ve gotten everything just about situated. Auntie Reesie says that she, Cousin Keith, Cousin Jade, and Cousin Erica have been cleaning the entire house from top to bottom, just to make sure that we all have a good clean visit. Oh, and I forgot to mention—Gramma Jewel has invited her best friend Ms. Thelma to come join in on all the fun, and I don’t think I need to mention that Ms. Thelma eagerly accepted the invite.

Y’all, this is gonna be so cool, because Ms. Thel is coming along with us!

Well, I really hate to cut this blog post short, but I reckon that I gotta. I promise that I’ll be back at it again tomorrow, though. Besides, I’ve got some news that y’all may or may not believe. Until then, y’all take it light.

Love Ya Lots!
