Another Note from My Secret Admirer

Happy Monday, Everybody!

So, I got another sweet little letter from my secret admirer. Just listen to this:

Dearest Natasha:

It has come to my attention that you may have plans for Valentine’s Day. If this is the case, then I hope that you are treated like the special lady that you are. In the meantime, I hope you are available the day after Valentine’s Day, because I think it’s time to finally unveil my identity. Yes, Natasha—four months is long enough, and to be honest, I really don’t know how I managed to keep my identity such a secret, but somehow I did it.

Before I close this letter, I must paraphrase the lyrics of an oldie but a goodie:

Why do I keep my mind on you all the time?
And I don’t even know you.
Why do I feel this way, thinking about you everyday?
And I don’t even know you.
I’ll take you in my arms, and fill you with all of my charm.

I wanna take to the sky on a natural high,
Hopefully one day, it will be you and I.
Take to the sky on a natural high…

Oh, what the hell! Natasha, you’re too sweet of a lady for me to keep beating around the bush with you. Here’s the truth: Plain and simple, I like you!

Sincerely,
Your Secret Admirer

It’s nice to see that my mystery man kept it simple in this letter, considering that I already know he likes me. It also sounds like he will reveal his true identity on the day after Valentine’s Day, if not the day of. Well, I’m a pretty patient gal—I can hold out for another three weeks, give or take.

Until tomorrow, y’all have a gooden.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha

My Secret Admirer Is Really Impressing Me!

Hi, Everyone!

I want to start off this blog post by saying that I am most certainly flattered… and I also want it stated for the record that I’m gonna have to wrap up Ruby in some duct tape if she don’t shut up!

Yes, the previous introduction has everything to do with my secret admirer. As you know, I received my second letter from him on yesterday afternoon, and it was just as sweet as the first one. Once again, I am at a loss for words that someone has a crush on me, and I am truly honored; at the same time, though, I wish I had a tiny clue as to who this brotha may very well be. Now, Ruby swears up and down that it’s Richard Cornelius, to which I very politely told her to shut the hell up. Besides, Ruby already knows who my mystery man is, and she made it emphatically clear that she was sworn to secrecy by this guy. That statement alone lets me further know that it damn sure ain’t none of Richard—we all know that it was around this time last year that he screwed up any and all chances of getting to know me better.

And yes, y’all—I will go on record to say that I did ask Ruby to give me a touch of a clue as to who my secret admirer could be. All Ruby said was that he is in our graduating class, and that she promised this guy that she wouldn’t spill the beans; she did, however, tell me that she encouraged the brotha to follow his heart and do what he feels is necessary to genuinely wow me.

Sounds like Ruby’s trying to school this fella on how to win my heart, in a manner of speaking of course… hahaha!

Well, I really hate to cut this blog post short, but there’s a matter of my Fine Arts paper that needs to be completed. I’ll be sure to run it by you all before I turn it into my class tomorrow morning. Until then, y’all take care and have a “gooden.”

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha

A Letter from Pastor & Mrs. Clark

Hi, Everyone!

So, yesterday I received a letter from my pastor and first lady back home… I know y’all thought I was gonna say Ray—gotcha, didn’t I?

But anyway, check out what my pastor and first lady had to say to me:

Dearest Natasha:

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please forgive the late response to your letter, which we received in September, but we want you to know that we love you very much, and we are proud of you. Incidentally, the St. Matthew Baptist Church Family sends you their love as well.

We are thrilled that you are enjoying your adventures in your collegiate journey, albeit in another state. Your mother and father have explained to us that you have experienced more than your share of homesickness, but remember to keep the faith, because The Lord is on your side, just as He was with Abraham. If you recall, The Lord told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac, and Abraham stepped out on faith to do so. Now granted, you don’t have any children to sacrifice, but you did step out on faith when you accepted admission to Rust College. Just remember that The Lord rewards those who exercise their faith.

Having said that, we cannot wait to see you in December, if only for a little while, but until then, you just hang on in there, study hard, and above all else, trust in The Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, for they that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength.

May The Lord continue to bless and keep you.

Warmest Regards,
Jerome & Aretha Clark
Pastor & First Lady, St. Matthew Baptist Church

Well, y’all—after receiving such a sweet and encouraging letter from my pastor, all I have to say is: I feel like goin’ on!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
