Would you
believe that it is chilly out here in Southern California? I mean, it’s bright
and sunny outside, but it’s a good fortysomething degrees right about now. The
high for today is supposed to be somewhere in the low 60s, and then it’s
supposed to rain tomorrow and Wednesday.
Well, if
this is how 2014 is gonna close out for me, then so be it. Besides, I’ve kinda
gotten used to the cold weather. I’m actually in my warm bed with my warm pajamas
and my warm socks, and I’ve got a nice big cup of hot chocolate with mini
marshmallows. I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere today… and that’s the first
time I’ve ever uttered those words and meant it. Let’s face it—my time at Rust
has helped me break out of my cocoon and become this social butterfly, so for
me to say that I want to stay home (and actually mean it), that speaks volumes.
So, around
this time next week, I’ll be back on the first plane to Memphis, and from
there. I’ll be back to Bearcat Country… and I just reminded myself that I need
to call Great Aunt Donna to pick me up from the airport. Just in case she can’t
make it, I’ve got Auntie Gladys as the back-up. Either way, I gotta call them
ahead of time. Can y’all believe that I’ve got one more year until I officially
become a Rust College alumna? I mean, it seemed like yesterday that I was
raising hell about leaving my hometown, and now… incidentally, I just thought
about what Mother Fields told me before she passed away; she said, “Tasha-Darling,
it won’t take but a blink of an eye, and you’ll be walkin’ that stage real
soon.”
I didn’t
think my senior year would come to me that
quickly—I’m just sayin’!
Well, I
reckon I’d better head close up today’s blog post, but I’ll be back tomorrow
with another gooden. Until then, take care and be good.
Hugs &
Kisses,
Natasha
