To paraphrase Vince McMahon on a 1999 episode of Monday
Night Raw: “Sometimes, plans go awry, and when they do, that tests the mettle
of an individual.”
I said all that to say this: I had planned on sending
y’all an update on the upcoming Christmas play at Carter Elementary, but I
gotta tell y’all—I was thrown off track by a declaration from one Winston
Campbell. You see, after a great rehearsal yesterday afternoon, I stopped by
the sandwich shop, and to my surprise, Winston was there. Well, as usual, we
chatted it up for a while, and y’all already know that I told him how I’m
perfecting my cues in the play. Afterwards, Winston rang me up, then he says,
“I guess I’ll see you Thursday evening.”
“What’s happening Thursday evening?” I asked.
“It’s my day off,” he answered. “And you’ve talked so
much about this Christmas play for the past couple of weeks that I just have to
be there and see how you play this guardian angel.”
Right then and there, I started blushing.
“Okay, hopefully I’ll see you there,” I smiled.
I’ve got a question for the lotta y’all: Does Winston
have telekinesis or something? I only ask that because I had every intent on
inviting him to see this play that Carter Elementary has worked so very
diligently to put together. Oh, well—the bottom line is that he’s gonna be
there, and I am so excited!
Until tomorrow, y’all take care.
Smooches,
Natasha
