Happy New Year, Everybody!

Hi, Everyone—and Happy New Year 2013!

 

First things first: I would like to wish a Happy 23^rd Birthday to my cousin Vanessa Joyce Cunningham, a.k.a. “Heart Throb.” Keep it sexy, Girlie—love ya lots!

 

Well, we’ve crossed over into a brand-new year, and I for one am excited to see what 2013 has in store for me. On a personal note, I would just like to say that I would not want to usher in the new year anywhere else but in my hometown and surrounded by my family. In the two weeks that I’ve been home, I have a newfound appreciation for my home, my family, and everything Los Angeles. These are truly the moments that I will hold near and dear to my heart.

 

Now, I did have intentions on posting a blog yesterday morning, but I was too busy baking desserts for a New Year's party over at Gramma Jewel’s. For the first time in my family’s history, we were instructed to bring our own dish, kinda like a potluck. I made a s’mores pie from scratch—chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. Just in case it didn't come out like the picture on the recipe, I already had a back-up plan: I made M&M brownies. Suffice to say, both the pie and the brownies were demolished!

 

In other news, I’ve got a few more hours before I get on that plane early Thursday morning and return to Rust. Fortunately, I get to see Ray this afternoon. We’re still scheduled to go to the Griffith Park Observatory. Hopefully the weather will be clear so we can see the Hollywood sign. I wanna be sure to take a picture of it so I can show Ruby and Theo when I make my return to Bearcat Country.

 

You know, I was just thinking: Ray and I have been acting like a couple since my return a couple of weeks ago. I mean, think about it: We attended a wedding together, we’ve been calling each other almost every day, and the icing on the cake is that first kiss… ooh, I’m gettin’ all warm and fuzzy again. I swear, if this were a movie, you all would see me sigh lovingly and pretend to faint, with a soft pink bed breaking my fall.

 

I told y’all that I watch too many movies… hahaha!

 

Well anyway, let me get back to finding a cute but warm outfit for my second date with Ray this afternoon. I shall holla at y’all later on with the details, but until then, I pray that The Lord continues to bless and keep you in this new year of 2013.

By the way, please forgive me for not posting a blog on yesterday. I promise I’ll make it up to you later on this evening.
