Ever since last night, I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what I should write back to Ray.
This is what I have written so far:
Dear Ray:
I am quite sure this letter finds you doing well, considering that you are still in Southern California . I’m a little jealous of you because you can go to Fatburger anytime you wish. When you do go, be sure to order a double king turkey burger with the works for me… hahahahaha!
Ray, I want you to know that it was an honor to be your prom date. If anything, I want to thank you for asking me. I also want you to know that I had a lot of fun. Do you know that I keep our prom picture on my desk in my room?
Ruby says that I shouldn’t give Ray the impression that I’m waiting on him. She kinda has a point, because a lot can happen between now and graduation time. The last thing I want to do is string Ray along; as long as I can help it, I will never do that to him. At the same time, I do want him to know that no one has scooped me up, per se, and that I am still interested in him. And I certainly don’t want him to wait on me for four years; that’s just not fair to any of us.
I’m so confused—I need my mom, my Auntie Cherri, and my Gramma Jewel.
Pray for me, you guys.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
