Monday Morning Ramblings

Hello, Monday, my old friend…

Hi, Everyone!

After a much deserved (albeit short) weekend, our girl is back on it, bright and early as always. I just finished my 8am class, and I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to talk to y’all. Other than the usual (my summer school classes and my anticipatory return to L.A.), not much is really going on with me… oh, but I just realized something else!

On Sunday, May 12, 2013, I will celebrate my first Mother’s Day without my mom—and by that, of course I’m referring to the distance between us. The first eighteen years of my life, my mom and I have been inseparable, but this go-round, I’m in college while my mom is in Los Angeles. Around this time last year, I was scrambling around, trying to find the perfect Mother’s Day gift for Mrs. Danielle Renee Stewart, and literally on the eve of Mother’s Day, my dad drove me to every mall within a twenty mile radius, and I placed an order of a lovely purple bouquet for my mom, along with some homemade brownies and a purple pen with happy faces on it. I knew it wasn’t much, but to my mom, it meant a whole lot to her. She still has that purple pen with her, but she only uses it for “such special occasions.”

Seeing as how I cannot be with my mom this year, I’ll at least get a purple Mother’s Day card for her; I’ll mail it off sometime tomorrow. And while I’m at it, I can get some cards for Gramma Jewel, Cousin Jade, and my aunts as well. Oh, and I just realized that I can’t leave out my Mississippi mom, Mrs. Margaret Hudspeth (Ruby Jean’s mom).

Yeah, I would be remiss if I left her out! With all that she’s done for me, I’ve got to recognize her.

Well, that’s about it for now. I had better get ready for my Principles of Early Childhood Education class. As y’all know, I’ve got my first paper due today—let’s pray that it’s at least above average.

Until tomorrow, y’all take care.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
