A Sermon Tailor-Made Just for Me!

And a Good Sunday Afternoon to All-A-Y’all!

Well, today is May 31, 2015, and seeing as how today is the last day of the month of May, I want y’all to know that I had a great time in church today. I also have a confession to make: In just this past semester alone, I’ve only gone to church twice—once with my Great Aunt Donna, and the other time with Ruby’s parents. Yes, I admit it—I am a backslider, and I am so ashamed. However, when my mom and dad woke me up for church this morning… well, let me just say that I was glad! Now, I will admit that I turned back over, just to get five more minutes of sleep, and doggone it all if those five minutes felt like five seconds. Nevertheless, I got up out of bed and got ready for church.

Now, this was the funny part: Pastor Clark’s sermon was taken from John 14:26, and the subject was “Don’t Forget to Remember.” Perhaps I was in sync with Pastor Clark, because before he even started preaching, I knew he was gonna talk about backsliders. To quote my Gramma Jewel: “Sure as sugar,” Pastor Clark did just that! However, I was a little surprised when he admitted that there are some times when he wants to backslide—on purpose!

Y’all know that I talked to him after the benediction, right?

But here’s the most amazing part, y’all: I really believe that Pastor Clark read my mind—either that, or The Lord told him what I was thinking, because as sure as I’m graduating from Rust next year, Pastor Clark looked square at me and answered my question… and he gave me a great answer, too. He said: “Sister Natasha, the apostle Paul tells us in Romans 3:10 that there is none righteous—no, not one—and that includes me. Yes, I know that I’m one of the most well respected pastors in the city, but lemme tell the truth about it: Sometimes, some-a-y’all can get on my last good nerve, and I know that the feeling is mutual. I guess that’s why we’re made for each other.”

After service was over, I walked up to Pastor Clark and thanked him for that wonderful sermon. He gave me a hug and said, “I musta said something that caught your attention.” I merely told him that my church attendance in the Bible Belt country is spotty at best, all things considered. He just laughed and said, “That’s okay, Sister Natasha. Just remember to keep God’s Word hidden in your heart, so that you won’t sin against him.”

See, y’all—I learned a little something at church!

Until tomorrow, y’all have a great one!

Home Sweet Home on the Range!

Hi, Everybody!
Well, I’ve said it once, and I’m gonna keep on sayin’ it on account of it’s true: Be it ever so home, there’s no place like home sweet home on the range… hahahaha! I tell y’all—it really feels good to be back home, right here in Los Angeles, California!

I was expecting a crowd to just start cheering on account of I mentioned my city, but I guess that only works for wrestling legend Mick Foley. In any event, I arrived in L.A. around 6:30pm PST yesterday evening, and I had no time to rest. As you know, yesterday was my Uncle Gregory’s 45th Birthday. We didn’t really do much; Auntie Glo made a wonderful dinner, and then we sat around and had a big ol’ party, as only we can. It was about 11pm when I got home, and I wanna state for the record that I had a great night’s sleep. I betcha anything that I slept through the night—I know I did because I woke up around nine this morning. Usually I’m up around seven… but then again, I really didn’t have a good night’s sleep the night before. I’ve been an out-of-state college student for about three years now, and admittedly, I’ve never gotten used to resting up before my big return to Southern Cali. I’m always so wired up on the night before. I thought I would be sleepy on the plane, but I only slept about a half hour. Nevertheless, I’m home now, and I’m ready to take this summer vacation to… a whole nutha level!

It’s been a minute since I’ve said that, y’all… hahaha!

So, now that I’m back home in L.A., what is on the agenda? Well, to be honest, I really don’t want to do anything today. I’d much rather stay at home and chill. Besides, I don’t start my internship until late August… and that reminds me: I gotta call Mrs. Martin and let her know that I’m home! I reckon I’ll call her sometime this evening, just so I stay on top of the matter.

That’s right—I’m still using my whole ass!

You know, I guess I could email Ruby, Theo, Craig, and Azalea, if for nothing but to let them know that I arrived home safely. I sure hope that they don’t miss me too much. As I’ve mentioned in previous blog posts, I’m gonna be away longer than the standard summer vacation. I’m sure that they’ll do fine without me… well, I’m not really sure about Craig, but I know that Ruby and Theo will manage without me, and probably Azalea. Then again, Heaven forbid that I mess around and have a flashback, and think that I’m back at Rust. I’ve done it before—I messed around and referred to Ruby as Cousin Vanessa on more than one occasion.

Oh, well—this whole situation will play itself out.

Well, y’all, I reckon I had better close up this here blog post, but I’ll be in contact with you all shortly. Until then, take care and be good.

Natasha

Next Stop—Southern Cali!

Hi, Y’all!

Before I begin today’s blog post, I have a very special announcement:

Happy 45th Birthday to my Uncle Gregory! You already know that when I arrive in L.A., I’m gonna help you celebrate ‘til the cows come home! Don’t start the party without me! Love ya lots!

Well, y’all—do I even need to mention that the inevitable has finally come upon us? However, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t use my over-the-top announcer voice and give a very corny speech:

“In mere moments, the California Vipress will make her triumphant return to where it all began—Los Angeles, California. In addition to a much deserved summer vacation, Miss Natasha will be preparing for her internship with one Mrs. Ingrid Martin, where she will learn firsthand what being a kindergarten teacher is all about.”

Believe me when I tell y’all—I had a helluva lot more, but I decided to just leave that speech right where it was! Yes, I actually cut a speech short. Unbelievable, ain’t it? Hahahaha!

So, I’m all packed up and ready to go, and I’ve also said my temporary farewells to Azalea, Theo, and Craig—it’s just me and Ruby at the moment; we’re waiting on Mr. and Mrs. Hudspeth… actually, I’m waiting on Auntie Gladys to come pick me up and take me to the airport, but as usual, Mr. and Mrs. Hudspeth will be watching over my stuff until I return in January. For the record, I gotta say that the Hudspeths are truly a blessing to me. They’ve treated me like a long lost daughter since my freshman year, but that’s Southern hospitality for ya!

And I know that I’ve already said this enough, but I still need to say it: I’m really gonna miss being away from Bearcat Country for an extra four months. If I had thought about it, I would’ve chosen an internship at one of the elementary schools out here… then again, I would really miss L.A. tremendously. I tell y’all about these Catch-22’s. A sacrifice had to be made somewhere, and such as that old expression: I can’t eat my cake and have it, too.

Welcome to adulthood, Natasha—indeed!

Well, y’all—it’s almost time to head out. I’ll holla at y’all when I return to Cali, but in the meantime, y’all say a prayer for me, that I and the rest of my planemates arrive at LAX safely. Until then, take care and be good.

The Next-to-Last Day at Rust... Sorta!

Hi, Everybody!

Well, this is it, y’all! Today is my last day at Rust College… in a manner of speaking, of course. I finished my final exam this morning, and at the risk of bragging, my professor said that I truly earned my A-plus!

I don’t think it should surprise anybody that I messed around and shouted in class. Granted, I knew that I had passed, but I honestly was not expecting an A-plus! Oh, and I wasn’t the only one who achieved such a high grade—Craig got an A-plus as well, and I may have messed around and broke out a standing ovation for him.

So, with that said, I am officially done with summer school, and technically speaking, I’ve got nothing else to do until tomorrow afternoon at 12 noon CST. I’m taking a little break from packing up so I can talk to y’all for a minute.

I know I’ve got one year left, but I gotta say that my junior year has not disappointed me one iota. Oh, sure—I was bogged down with work and I was unable to holla at y’all like I wanted to, but other than that, the 2014-15 school year at Rust College has proven to be quite memorable. I know that I’ve mentioned it plenty of times, but I’m really gonna miss my peeps during the upcoming fall semester. We’re all gonna get together later on this evening and have a “Friends Marathon” pizza party… would y’all believe that my girl Azalea has the first two seasons of the TV show Friends? And come to find out, all of us are huge Friends fans. Would y’all believe that my peeps voted me as the Rachel of the group? I must say that I’m very flattered.

And yes, y’all—that is the reason why I have the cast of Friends in today’s blog post. Y’all finally learned the method behind my madness… hahahaha!

So, the inevitable takes place in roughly fourteen hours, but I have assured Ruby, Theo, Craig, and Azalea that I will be in contact with each and every last one of them. Yes, I know that this internship lasts fourteen weeks… and I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but seeing as how I’m gonna be in L.A. for an  extra four months, I’m gonna go stone cold crazy! What’s a girl gonna do in Southern Cali?

Well, y’all, let me finish packing up, but I’ll definitely holla at y’all sometime before I leave tomorrow. Until then, y’all take care and be good.

Send Me In, Coach—I'm Ready!

Hey, Y’all!

Well, as you can see, I am all ready and prepared for my final exam tomorrow. Yes, I realize that I was a touch redundant with my prose, but that just goes to show that I put forth the necessary time and effort in this here final exam. Some-a-y’all must’ve forgotten, so let me remind you again: I am Natasha Renee Stewart—Ben and Dani’s onliest child, Gramma Jewel’s bright eyes, Grampa Clark’s little girl, and Auntie Cherri’s mini-me. I’m also the one who ain’t afraid to show off, so long as I back it up.

And with the caboose that I’m carryin’, trust me, honey—I can back it up!

So, I’ve got my paper typed up, I’ve got my index notes written out, and I’ve got my handouts printed up. I want to thank my homey Neo Theo for taking time out from his schedule to print out the handouts, and I gotta thank my girl Azalea for writing out my index notes. As for Ruby… well, she had the most important task—she picked out my wardrobe! She suggested that I wear my lavender dress suit, and put my hair in a “librarian bun.” She also picked out some plum purple faux glasses which remarkably look just like Gramma Jewel’s. I think I’m gonna wear them for my family reunion this year and take a picture with Gramma Jewel. I reckon we’ll be the Doublemint Twins for real… hahaha!

I’m sure y’all noticed that I didn’t mention Craig, and that’s only because he’s in the class with me. I don’t know what his paper is on, and that’s actually a good thing. Now that I think about it, neither one of us volunteered any information as to what we would write about, so as not to plagiarize off of one another. Personally, it goes beyond plagiarism; you see, I’ve noticed that I can be a highly competitive chick when I want to be—hell, I can be downright ruthless! For those of you who are wrestling fans like I am, do y’all remember when The Rock went into a match with busted ribs against Triple H? Do y’all remember how relentless Trips was when he repeatedly attacked The Rock’s ribs? Well, that’s how I am. If I see a weakness, I will attack… and that’s kinda ironic, considering that I’m a good gal.

I guess I really am a Vipress… hahahaha!

Well, y’all, I guess that’s gonna do it for today. Besides, now that I’m all set and ready to go, there’s only one thing left to do—it’s time to practice my speech and my notes. I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow.

Natasha

In Full Preparation Mode!

Happy Tuesday, Everybody!

Well, here we are—the last week of summer school, and unless I misread my calendar, I officially have three days left until I return to L.A. for practically the remainder of the year. It’s funny that I mention that, because just this morning, my peeps asked me to make a “state of the faction” address… hahahaha! Up until now, I had never heard of such a thing, but then again, I had never knew that Mississippi had a Long Beach of their own; it’s ten minutes away from Gulfport. In any event, the group asked me a very important question: “What are we gonna do until you come back?” I simply told them to continue living their lives, and to carry on as though I was still with them. I went on to tell my peeps that this was our ultimate test, but much like the song form Diana Ross and the Supremes, we will be back together again.

Yes, I am aware that I changed the lyrics, but y’all know what I mean!

So, I’ve discovered that half of my final exam is a six-page term paper, and believe it or not, I kinda had a feeling that it would be…  and it shouldn’t surprise any-a-y’all that I’ve been working on this here final exam term paper for the last two months. Call it a woman’s intuition, call it a sixth sense—hell, you can even call it intertelepathy, but the bottom line is that I’m just about finished with this here paper. There’s a caveat to this particular paper, though: You see, I also have to present this paper to the class, as though I am speaking in a seminar or something. Well, that brings to mind my speech class in my freshman year. Y’all know how much I loved Fundamentals of Speech, and with the line of work that I’ve chosen, I have to be a great speaker. That being said, I had better have some handouts and some visual aides come this Thursday… oh, I am so excited, y’all!

Shoot, why I am still talkin’ to y’all?! Lemme close up this here blog post and get started! After all, it didn’t rain until after Noah finished building the ark.

Holla Back, Y’all!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha

Thank You, David Letterman!

Happy Friday, Everybody!

Well, as you can see by the perfectly obvious, today’s blog post is dedicated to Mr. David Letterman.

For those of you who may not know, Mr. Letterman has decided to retire from late night talk, after thirty-three years in the game. His last show took place this past Wednesday evening, and in my humble opinion, it was a darn good show. Granted, I wish that Mr. Letterman would have had his last show on a Friday, only because… well, it’s Friday! Nevertheless, Mr. Letterman has officially retired.

And yes—I know that I’m only 20 years old, but I would watch Letterman whenever I could. I happened to watch the night he announced his retirement, and I was some kinda shocked. Personally, I thought that Mr. Letterman would have continued another three years at least, but I guess the man feels that it’s time for him to bow out gracefully.

The following clip is quite apropos, as it is the final Top Ten. As a tribute to Mr. Letterman, several of his regular guests and close friends presented the top ten things that they always wanted to say to Mr. Letterman… and for the record, Number Four is freakin’ hilarious!

In closing today’s blog post, I would just like to say this one thing:

THANKS FOR THE LAUGHS, MR. LETTERMAN!!!
GOD BLESS!!!

Hugs & Kisses,

Natasha

I Am In My Zone, Y'all!

Hi, Everybody!

I trust that you’re all having a great evening.

Just in case I didn’t make it obvious enough, I’m in the zone right now. Finals are coming up next Thursday, and I’m studying everything that I think is gonna be on the test. Yes, I know what y’all are thinking: “Natasha, you only have one class during this summer session. Why are you stressing?”

Well, I can assure you that I am not stressing, but as you know, my family considers it a sin to half-ass anything. Come on, y’all—I know I haven’t said it in a while, but as my Grampa Clark used to always say: If you’re gonna do something, use your full ass!”

And that’s exactly what I intend to do.

Ever since my last blog post the other day, I made sure that I take at least three hours to study for my finals. Y’all can ask Ruby—hell, she’s even been quizzing me, just to make sure that I’m not slipping. She tried to trip me up on yesterday, though. She asked me a question that I know we did go over in class, and I let her know about it. Ruby then said, “You’re quick on your toes, ain’tcha Tasha?” I just simply winked and let her know that I couldn’t be tripped up… although, as I mentioned earlier on, I don’t know what’s gonna be on the final. Perhaps Ruby did that to let me know that the very least thing could be on the test. That’s what I’ve been studying like a mad woman—I’ll be damned before I get tripped up! I’ve come too far from where I started.

Speaking of which, I reckon it’s time for me to close up today’s blog post and let this noggin of mine rest up a bit. Rest assured, though: I’m gonna be right back on it tomorrow. Until then, y’all be sure to keep your girl lifted up in prayer.

Peace Out!

An Exciting Revelation

Hey, Everybody!

I’m back with another blog post… and I know y’all got jokes out there. I’m sure someone is looking at this and thinking to themselves: “Wow, two blog posts in a row—that must be a new world’s record for the Vipress.”

I know y’all are thinking that, because I was thinking the same thing when I sat down at my computer… hahahaha!

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this (although some of you probably will), but I suffered from a senior moment yesterday evening. I almost forgot that I’m only taking one class during this summer session. I also forgot that final exams are next Thursday, and seeing as how I’m only taking one class, I only have one final!

Like I said yesterday: Y’all are lookin’ at one excited Vipress!

So, y’all already know what this means: I’m gonna be in the zone like never before. Yes, I know that I only have one final, but the last thing I need is to take it lightly. I don’t need to underestimate my studies—I’ve come too far to slip up and have it all taken away from me. With that said, I’m gonna start a study session sometime this weekend. Oh, and for the record, I am loving this Early Childhood Education class. I’ve learned a lot in such a short period of time… and incidentally, I finally heard from Mr. D’s daughter-in-law Jessica. She gave me some good pointers on how to be a great teacher, and she also suggested that I check out the Culver City Children’s Center when I return to L.A. next week. She said that she would put in a good word for me.

Now that I think about it, Jessica may have a great idea! I mean, think about it: I could work at my internship, and then volunteer some hours at the Culver City Children’s Center, and…

HOT DAMN, Y’ALL—THIS IS GONNA BE THE GREATEST SUMMER VACATION EVER!!!

Well, I guess I’d better get going, but I’ll holla at y’all later. Until next time, y’all be good.

The Reason Behind My Impromptu Absence

Hi, Everybody—and Good Evening!

Yeah, yeah—I already know: “Natasha, where’ve you been, Girl? We ain’t heard from you since your sweet Mother’s Day blog post last week.”

Well, I’ve never been one to hide the truth from y’all, so here it is: In terms of updating my blog, I’ve been pretty damn lazy, and that’s the stone cold truth. Besides, there’s not a whole lot to talk about, and I wanted to spare y’all the same old stories of my inevitable return to Southern Cali, not to mention my internship at my old elementary school. That’s right, y’all—even though I ain’t talked to y’all in about a week or so, I’m still excited about working alongside my former kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Ingrid Martin. And I’m sure that I’ve mentioned the upcoming Jones Family Reunion, which is scheduled in three months time.

I’m tellin’ y’all—I am one excited Vipress!

Notwithstanding that which I have already mentioned, I have it on good authority that there’s some good news back home in Cali. As it turns out, I’m not the onliest one with good news. My girl Becky is cuttin’ up back home at Chamberlain University… academically, that is. According to her last email, she’s made the President’s List, and she has received all kinds of scholarships. Y’all know that I had to email her back, right? Shoot, y’all probably also know that the subject of my reply was: “Go, Becky, Go!”

Well, I really hate to cut today’s blog post short, but ain’t nothin’ else to talk about… hahahaha! Hopefully, I’ll have a gooden for you sometime this week. Until then, y’all take care and be good.

Ode to Momillennium

Happy Saturday, Everybody!

Seeing as how tomorrow is Mother’s Day, I thought I would dedicate this very special blog post to my wonderful mother, Danielle Renee Stewart.

Delightfully witty and beautiful—and I should know because I look just like her!

Amazingly amusing

Never has a bad day, although she has admitted that some days are better than others

Intelligently intellectual

Elegant in everything she does

Lovely personality

Loved by her family and friends

Eloquent with her speech, even when she’s upset

Remarkably ravishing, according to my dad, anyway!

Each second is a blessing to her

Not a day goes by that I don’t see her smiling

Every single member of our family has a very special place in her heart

Elegant in everything she does (it’s worth repeating again)

Such a sweetheart of a woman, and that is the stone cold truth!

Tiny in stature, but very tough

Equally as popular as my Gramma Jewel

Wonderfully witty

Alluringly lovely—again, according to my dad!

Ready to make someone feel special

Thankful that God chose her to be my mom

Happy Mother’s Day, Momillennium—I Love You!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha

It's About That Time For Another Celebration, Y'all!

Happy Friday, Everybody!

Before I begin today’s blog post, I have a special message for one Mr. Bret Douglas:

Happy #58, Mr. D! I already know that you are celebrating every moment of it. Be sure that Mrs. D and the rest of the fam treat you to all of your favorite places. Love ya lots!

So, as y’all can see from the photo in today’s blog post, I am just about ready for the summertime. Notwithstanding my return to Southern Cali and my upcoming internship, it’s about that time for my family reunion. With the success of last year’s festivities, the family decided to have our reunion every second Saturday in August. And lemme tell y’all—last year was so much fun! I’ve said it over and over again, but it’s worth repeating: The Joneses know how to party, Baby! I love how everything worked out for us to celebrate family togetherness in Nashville, and I know that Gramma Jewel’s best friend (and my honorary second grandmother) Mother Davis had a blast; she told me herself. Well, per Gramma Jewel’s mandate, we gotta make this a yearly thing. That being said, our family reunion this year will take place at Uncle Alex and Auntie Cherri’s house in Long Beach.

Yes, I know that I haven’t really talked about it much, but I can assure y’all that my family has been in deep discussion about Jones Family Reunion 2015. Matter of fact, it was just last year that Uncle Alex and Auntie Cherri volunteered to host this year’s reunion. Cousin Keith promised to bring back all of those fantastic ol’ skool hits, and of course, Gramma Jewel is gonna make her award-winning strawberry seven-up cake. The only thing we’re missing is a catchy theme; once we get that, Mom will go ahead and order the t-shirts.

I’m wondering now… yeah, I’ll go ahead and do it—I’m gonna invite Ruby, Theo, Azalea, and Craig. After all, like Gramma Jewel says: “Family don’t just mean blood, Baby!”

Okay, ‘all—that’s gonna do it for me today, and seeing as how Sunday is Mother’s Day, I’m gonna post a very special Mother’s Day blog post for a very special woman sometime tomorrow. Until then, y’all be good!

Preparing My Peeps for the Inevitable

Hi, Everybody!

I promise y’all that I have a very valid reason why I haven’t been posting a lot of blog updates this week. You see, what had happened was… hahahaha!

But seriously, the truth of the matter is that I got hit with a lazy stick. As you know, I have only one class for Summer School, and it’s at 8am CST. After class is over, I’ve got all this free time to head to the library and study, and lately I’ve been hanging out with my peeps a lot. So, yeah—y’all really can’t blame a girl for getting a little lazy.

Speaking of my Rust College peeps, we got to talking this evening in the cafeteria, and we spoke at length about the inevitable—my eventual return to Southern Cali and my hiatus from college living until sometime in January 2016. I didn’t really want to talk about it, but I had to let Ruby, Theo, Craig, and Azalea know that they would have to hold down the fort until I return. Theo immediately let me know that college life would be quite boring without that Southern Cali flavor. I was flattered by Theo’s compliment, but I let everyone know that until I got back, Ruby was in charge.

Explain to me why everybody—Ruby included—said, “Aw, Hell!” Hahahahaha!

Like I mentioned last week, there’s no sense in trying to delay that which is inevitable, and my prolonging it would only make it worse, so in the end, it’s good that I talked it over with my peeps right then and there. And besides, I’ve got a good twenty-two days until I head back to Cali anyway—that’s a good three weeks to spend with my peeps out here in Bearcat Country.

Well, y’all, I guess I had better close up this here blog post, but I’ll be back wither tomorrow or Saturday to holla at y’all again… that is, if I don’t get lazy!

Countdown to the Inevitable

Hi, Y’all!

So, I’ve not long been out of class, but as you can see, the countdown is on and crack-a-lackin’. In a mere twenty-five days, I’ll be heading back to Los Angeles to not only have a great summer vacation, but also to prepare for my internship this fall. I’ve thought about this long and hard, y’all, and there’s just no way of getting around it. While I’m excited to work side by side with Mrs. Martin this fall, my heart is somewhat heavy because I’ll be leaving my fellow Rustites behind. Oh, sure—it’s only gonna be for the first half of this 2015-16 school year, and yes, I will be back in time for the second semester, but yet and still, I’ve grown so close to Ruby, Theo, Craig, and Azalea. I really wish there was another way.

It’s a Rust College thang—I wouldn’t expect some-a-y’all to understand.

All of those old adages are ringing true right now. Yes, I am in one helluva Catch-22. Yes, I am caught between a rock and a hard place. Yes, I am damned if I do, and I am sho’ nuff damned if I don’t. Trust me—I’ve thought long and hard about all of this. As Michael Jackson said, it’s too high for me to go over and it’s too low for me to go under. I’m stuck in the middle, and that pain is definitely thunder. Oh, well—there’s no other way to go but straight ahead. I’ll say this much, though: If I gotta go through this, then I may as well go in with teeth bared and fur flyin’!

I got that quote from an episode of ThunderCats!

Well, I guess I had better get on up and close this here blog post—I’ll be meeting up with my peeps for lunch in about now and a few minutes, but I’ll holla back at y’all in due time.

Smooches,
Natasha

Wishing A Happy #43 to the People's Champion!

Hi, Everybody—and Happy Saturday!

Today is a very special day for one Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—he is 43 years old today.

I know that I have mentioned it on more than one occasion, but I have followed The Rock’s career since I was five years old. Yes, I was schooled on his humble beginnings as Rocky Maivia, and I saw his debut match at the 1996 Survivor Series. And whereas I thought he was kinda cute then, in hindsight I’ve gotta say: Yikes!

Now, don’t get me wrong—I admit that my heart melted a little when I learned the origin behind the “Rocky Maivia” moniker. I still think that it was a sweet little homage to his father Rocky “Soulman” Johnson and his grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia… I’m just sayin’ that the crowd did him dirty during those first three or four months. But I tell y’all: When I first saw Dwayne Johnson in this more “bad boy” character that we’ve all come to know and love… well, y’all—I was done for! You see, my Uncle Ronnie ordered a pay-per-view called Fully Loaded, and The Rock was in a strap match against Triple H. From that very day to this one, I make sure to count myself among the millions… and millions of The Rock’s fans—hell, I even break out with random chants of “Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!”

And I told Ruby the other day that if I ever decided that I wanted to be a wrestler, I would adopt (and, if possible, try to perfect) the People’s Elbow!

In closing today’s blog post, I would like to wish a Happy #43 to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and I hope he celebrates it the best way he knows how—if ya smellllllllllllll, what The Vipress-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s… is cookin’!

It's Freestyle Friday!

Happy Friday, Everybody… and Happy May 1st!

You know, it’s been a minute since I had a very special Friday Freestyle blog post, so seeing as how today is Friday, May 1, 2015, I figure I would just freestyle it today and talk about whatever is on my mind.

Well, I’m sure that some of you would like to know what I’m gonna do with all this free time that I have this month, seeing as how all I have is just one class. Well, I can assure you that I am using this free time to my advantage! I know that it’s only been a couple of days, but I’ve been studying up on this Early Childhood Development class—I’ve read the first four chapters of my study book, and I’ve even taken the liberty of jotting down notes that I think will be on the final exam. I’ve also done some studying on the early childhood development programs, such as Head Start and the Culver City Children’s Center.

And speaking of the latter headstart program, if you recall my blog post from the other day, I did call my friend Jessica… actually, I left a message for her to give me a call so I can interview her. I know that she’s a busy lady, what with being a wife, a mother, and a Third Grade teacher, so in the meantime, I’ve been looking at the website and learning all I can about early childhood education.

In other news, I have taken a look at my catalog, and I realize that the one class that I need to take is called Student Teaching Seminar. I can take that either in the first semester or the second semester, and seeing as how I’m taking my internship this fall, y’all already know when I’ll be taking this seminar, after which I will have completed all of my credits to earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. And then it’s on to coming back home and preparing for the C-BEST and earning my teaching credentials.

Finally, y’all see what I meant when I told y’all that I’m a well planned out gal! I don’t ass around when it comes to my studies, especially seeing as how my mom and dad have plopped down so much money for me to attend such an historic out-of-state college—and let’s not mention all the millions of supporters that have had my back since my freshman year! Trust and believe that each and every last one of my family and friends will be walking that aisle with me… metaphorically speaking, of course!

Well, y’all, I guess I had better wrap up this blog post, but I’ll definitely be hollin’ at y’all later. Until then, take care and be good.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
