First of all, I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to my cousins Matthew and Patricia, my family's version of the Doublemint Twins.
And now, back to our regulary scheduled blog.
For weeks now, I’ve more or less introduced you to my roommate, Ruby Jean Hudspeth. Well, today I’m going to make it official.
Ruby Jean Hudspeth was born in Olive Branch, Mississippi on March 31, 1994 to Vernon and Margie Hudspeth. I may have mentioned this in a much earlier blog, but Rust College runs deep in the veins of Ruby’s family, dating back to her great-great-grandfather. Ruby is the fifth generation of her family to continue the Bearcat tradition.
I’ve only known Ruby for a couple of months, but since that time, I have found that we have a lot in common: We’re both only children (and only girls), and we have a love for the traditions of Rust College. I’ve had the opportunity to meet her mom and dad on Labor Day, and they are so cool. I think I shared with you all that Mrs. Hudspeth makes some mean banana pudding—I mean, it is so totally off the hook. I sometimes wonder what would happen if Mrs. Hudspeth’s banana pudding challenged Gramma Jewel’s strawberry seven-up cake. All things considered, I think I would have hell on my hands trying not to be so partial… I’m just sayin’.
By the way: Ruby is one helluva roommate. Despite a couple of disagreements and differences here and there (which is expected), Ruby and I get along just great. Now, this is gonna be a challenge, but I need her to stop teasing me about Ray Hernandez. I swear—one of these days, I’m gonna find out who she has a crush on, and I’m gonna return the favor.
Well, Ms. Ruby, you’ve finally gotten your fifteen minutes of fame. Are you happy now?
Until next time, y’all take care!
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
