Well, I am super excited to say that your winner, and STILL President of these United States, Barack Hussein Obama!
It was a wonderful feeling to see my president stand out amongst his hometown Chicago crowd and address the masses. As usual, he was humble, grateful, and down-to-earth… and by the way, I hope President Obama changes his mind and gets another dog for Sasha and Malia—just sayin’.
As you know, I voted absentee, seeing as how I am an out-of-state college student. Even though my heart was praying for another four years, I must admit that I was scared out of my mind. I thought that I was gonna have another anxiety attack. Thankfully, Ruby was right there to make sure I didn’t pass out, although she was just as nervous as I was, if not more.
This year’s election was cuttin’ it pretty close. I mean, Team Romney was doing everything in their power—and I do mean everything—to literally steal this election, but thanks to some praying warriors, that didn’t happen. You know, my Great Aunt Donna has a saying: God don’t like ugly, and He ain’t too fond of pretty either. And I for one am glad that President Obama battled head-on with that adversity, even to the very end, when the inevitable results revealed that he is still our commander-in-chief.
As an 18-year-old college student who had voted for the very first time, I am still just giddy as a schoolgirl… and yes, I am aware of the redundancy. I am still reeling from the positive backlash of last night’s election results. The goosebumps have not subsided, and my smile needs to be surgically removed. I am so grateful that I took advantage of an opportunity to vote, and as you can see, my voice was heard—President Obama has received a second term.
I know how Gramma Jewel feels about President Obama—I’ve already spoken to her, but I can’t help but wonder about Grampa Clark’s thoughts. Then again, he already knows because he’s got the best seat in the house up there in Glory.
Well, that’s it for today. See y’all tomorrow.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
