Me and Auntie Gladys at last year's Founders Day Weekend. |
And A Very Happy Friday to All-A-Y’all!
Well, this is it, y’all—the 2013 Rust College Homecoming (a.k.a. Founders Day Weekend) is officially upon us!
I don’t know what it is, but Bearcat Country seems to get that much more exciting around this time of year, considering that this’ll be the second time that I will be part of the festivities. Let me put it this way: Founders Day Weekend is to Rust College what the SuperBowl is to an avid football fan.
Now y’all understand the importance of such a monumental event as Founders Day!
And yes, that is a picture of me and my Auntie Gladys from last year’s festivities. I can just hear some of the fellas now: “Dang, Tasha—your Auntie Gladys is a fox!”
One of the reasons why I am excited about this year’s festivities revolves around the coronation of Miss Rust 2013-14. I think I mentioned in a previous blog post that the coronation is fit for a queen—in every aspect of the word. It’s full of royal regality, and only one young lady is chosen as the elitest of the elite to represent her school, in a positive light, of course. And by the way: I have decided that before I graduate, I’m gonna throw my name in the ring… that’s right, y’all! As of this blog post, I—Natasha Renee Stewart—am running for Miss Rust College 2016-17!
Well, I guess I had better close up this blog post; after all, I’ve got Intro to Humanities in about ten minutes. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a blog for tomorrow, but just in case I am unable to do so, I’ll just holla at y’all on Monday. Either way, y’all take care of yourselves and have a good weekend.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
