Hi, Everyone!
I’m gonna try my damnedest not to say that today’s blog post is different from its predecessors… even though it is! Hahaha!
Anyway, in today’s blog post, I would like to reflect on exactly one year ago today. Does this sound familiar?
Anyway, in today’s blog post, I would like to reflect on exactly one year ago today. Does this sound familiar?
“I am officially eleven days away from my big triumphant return to Southern Cali, but I am also officially ten days away from my final exams… I knew that this journey wouldn’t be easy, but I can’t give up, especially when I am so close to [the] Promised Land. And I’ve got plenty added incentive: Mom & Dad, Auntie Cherri & Uncle Alex, Aunt Gloria & Uncle Gregory, Aunt Brenda & Uncle Ronnie, all my cousins, Gramma Jewel, my church family, and a young lady named Rebecca Ann Morgan… and mind you, this is my Southern Cali fam.”
This is just an excerpt from a blog that I posted last year this time, entitled “Almost Time To Return To Cali.” What a difference a year makes, don’t it? Around this time last year, I was a homesick little freshman girl from L.A., literally counting the days until I come home for Christmas. Well, here it is now, a whole year later, and that déjà vu has hit me just as hard as it did back then. The excitement is extraordinarily strong, and my giddiness is off the charts. And as far as Christmas presents go… well, let’s just say that my Christmas present is awaiting me as soon as I step foot on that plane and return to the Golden State! Hey, y’all have known me for well over a year now—y’all should know that I am not a difficult woman to please. Just being home with my family is enough of a Christmas present for me, and there’s only one individual who is beyond capable enough to bless me with such a privilege!
Until such time comes, though, I’m gonna just leave it in His Hands and continue to that matter at hand—studying for my finals.
Speaking of which, it’s time for me to close up this blog post. I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow, though.
Smooches,
Natasha
