Well, if it wasn’t official yesterday, then it’s officially official today: It is Friday, December 13, 2013!
Y’all, this is the moment that I have been awaiting for the past couple of weeks, and now it’s finally here! It won’t be long until I board that plane leaving Memphis, Tennessee and head to my hometown, the Golden State—Southern Cali, if you will. I’m in the Memphis Airport as we speak, writing this blog post for today. By the way, I wanna give a shout-out and show my appreciation to the good people at the Rust College Mailroom for going out of their way to getting me and Theo to the airport in time and on time. Theo’s flight to Houston leaves at 2pm CST, and y’all already know that my flight to Cali is at 4pm CST, so we just killed two birds with one stone. Granted, I’ve got a little ways to wait, but it’s all good.
I was just checking out the weather report for L.A. on my laptop, and it shows that there will be some sunny days for the next couple of days, like in the late 70s to early 80s. Now, despite the warm Cali weather, I will not be wearing any of my sexy sundresses—it ain’t that warm, Baby! Besides, from what I saw on the weather report, the nights in Southern Cali will be in the forties and fifties, and the last thing I need is a cold during my Christmas vacation.
So, check this out, y’all: Earlier this morning, Ruby and I were chattin’ it up with our homey Neo Theo, and it was the cutest thing. We talked about how we hadn’t really spent a whole lot of time together on account of our respective majors and extracurricular activities within Bearcat Country, but as has been proven in the past, our friendship still remains strong. With that said, we all shared a big group hug, and then Theo put two mistletoes over our heads. Of course, Ruby and I teased him for being so corny, but then again, he’s always been so sweet to us, so we willingly kissed Theo on his cheeks. After turning giddy, Theo reciprocated and kissed us on our cheeks.
Well, I’ve got about an hour or so to kill before we board the plane, so I reckon I’ll check out the shops in this here airport, or maybe I’ll just stay put in my seat and keep myself entertained. I guess I could listen to some music or something… and how apropos is this: They’re playing “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” in one of the stores—I’ve got exceptional hearing, don’tcha know!
I may holla at y’all when I get settled in to town, but just in case I don’t, I’ll definitely holla at y’all tomorrow. Say a prayer for me, that I’ll arrive in L.A. safe and sound.
Smooches,
Natasha
