Un Día Más

Hi, Everyone!

Like my Gramma Jewel says: “It sho’ ain’t long, ain’t it?”

Not that I’ve been counting down the hours or anything, but I’ve got about twelve hours (give or take) until I board that plane heading for Southern Cali. And you know something, I feel so good right now that I’ve got to get this out of my system:

California, here I come,
Right back where I started from.
Where bowers of flowers bloom in the spring;
Each morning, at dawning, birdies sing at everything.
A sun-kissed miss said, “Don’t be late.”
That’s why I can hardly wait.
Open up that golden gate—
California, Here I Come, Baby!

I’m sure y’all remember when I sang that song around this time last year—of course, that was when I was a homesick little freshman girl. Well, things have changed since then, and I am now an excited little upperclasswoman with a plate full of activities. To tell y’all the truth, I hadn’t really thought much of L.A. until two weeks ago. Yes, y’all—Rust College has taken up a lot of my mental space, and that’s a good thing, seriously. I’ve been involved with classes, extracurricular activities, and pretty much college life in general… and I have yet to find out the identity of my secret admirer. Quiet as it’s kept, though, I haven’t really given it much thought on account of I’ve been tied up in my studies; besides, it’s been a minute since I received anything from my secret admirer as of late. I don’t suppose he’s given up on chasing after me—not that I’m worried or anything. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, though. After all, this is the week of final exams, and he’s probably been studying like mad in order to get an above average grade.

Well, I reckon I’ll go ahead and close this blog post so I can get some more packing done. I know, I know—I’ll only be gone for about three weeks, but y’all oughta know me by now! Returning to L.A. is like a big ol’ fantastic event of epic proportions for me, only this time, there’s not much fanfare… hahaha!

I’ll holla at y’all later. Peace Out!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
