Fourth of July with My Fabulous Fam & Friends, Tho!

Happy Fourth of July, Y’all!

I’m still celebrating the Fourth of July over here with my Auntie Cherri and Uncle Alex, and I gotta say—this is truly the bomb-diggity!

We’re still partyin’, dancin’, and chillin’ like it’s goin’ outta style, but my Cousin Calvin let me use his laptop so that I can keep my word and give y’all an update on what’s been going on in Long Beach. And yes, I know y’all wanna know what outfit I wore, so I’m gonna tell y’all: I wore my patriotic sundress with the white open-toed sandals, but I didn’t get dressed until like around three this afternoon. You see, I was too busy helping my mom, Auntie Cherri and Cousin Nessa decorate the tables and chairs with the patriotic centerpieces that my Auntie Glo made over the weekend. And then I had to help my dad, Uncle Alex and Cousin Calvin set up some extra tables. We got everything done around 2:15pm, and then us ladies rested up so that we could get ready for our guests.

I recorded so much footage on my camcorder this afternoon… and I want to state for the record that my Auntie Brenda is not as shy as would like us to believe! Don’t get me wrong—she’s quite reserved, but when it comes to the cameras, she always blows a kiss to the camera and winks. And y’all already know that my Gramma Jewel is anything but shy; she’s been that way all her life. And speaking of Gramma Jewel, she asked if she could man the camcorder for a little while on account of “the world needs to see my bright-eyed baby granddaughter.” So, yes—I did get in front of the camera for a while, and no sooner than I did, here comes Auntie Brenda right behind me; she catches me by my shoulders and tells me that I am no longer to talk about her hammin’ it up for the camera.

By the way, my sweetie pie Ray did in fact show up, and I guess we were subliminally in sync with one another, because he was wearing patriotic shorts and a white shirt. And I also want to point out that I still haven’t heard the end of it from my cousins—all of ‘em. Also, just for the record: I expected Cousin Candace, Cousin Nessa, Cousin Trisha, and Cousin Becky to give Ray the third degree, but I was floored when Cousin Lionel, Cousin, Calvin, and Cousin Matt had their own version of “20 Questions.”

What can I say? I guess my family really loves me.

Well, I had best log off and go back to enjoying my family and friends. Besides, the girls and I have agreed to perform “Give It Up, Turn It Loose” by En Vogue for the camera, and of all people to lead the song, they choose Cousin Trisha… hahahaha! I know y’all thought I was gonna say that they chose me! But seriously, it’s all good—I really don’t mind being a background singer. Besides, it means a lot to me that Ray is gonna see me perform!

Alright, y’all—they’re callin’ me! I’ll holla tomorrow, fa sho’!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
