Hi, Everyone—and Happy July 1!
So, we have just crossed over into the second half of 2013, and in this week alone, there is so much to celebrate.
In addition to celebrating the Fourth of July over at my Auntie Cherri & Uncle Alex’s place, I’ve also got to recognize that someone is celebrating a birthday on tomorrow. I’ll give you a couple clues in regards to the identity of this very special someone:
1. She is a native of Memphis, Tennessee.
2. She is the youngest of five, and she stands five feet two inches tall.
3. She has the same middle name as I do.
Heaven knows that I tried to make the clues as difficult as possible, but when you’re talking about my mother, the task at hand becomes quite difficult. Nevertheless, tomorrow is my mommy’s birthday, and if you want to take a poll as to who is the most excited, it would be a definite stalemate. Of course, my mom is excited, but I am just as excited, and so is my dad… and everyone else in our family for that matter.
I’m not gonna give any spoiler alerts on tomorrow’s blog dedication to my mom, but you can best believe that I’ll be writing more about her on tomorrow, given the circumstances.
And I just thought about something: Considering that today is July 1, that means that I am about a month and a half away from returning to Rust for my advanced sophomore year. Up until right now, I haven’t really given it much thought on account of I’ve been so glad to be back home. I recognize that the time will come when I have to get back on that plane and head for Bearcat Country, but until then, I’m just gonna enjoy L.A. as much as I possibly can. As a matter of fact, I have yet to go to the beach—I’m thinking either the Santa Monica Pier or Manhattan Beach. And of course, I’ve gotta spend time with Gramma Jewel before I head back… I’m not gonna rush anything; all of those things will happen in due time. Right now, though, it’s time to get ready for the Fourth of July party at Auntie Cherri and Uncle Alex’s.
Well, I gotta get going—I’ve got some more home video footage to record. In the meantime, y’all take care, and I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
