It is indeed a beautiful Saturday morning out here in Southern Cali, and I’m all excited. Why all the excitement, you ask? Well, it’s simple: This afternoon, Ray and I are going out on yet another date. He didn’t mention anything about bowling; he merely said that I was in for a big surprise. Well, whatever it is, I’m gonna make damn sure that I look my sexiest… I mean, my best!
Just to let y’all know: I’m gonna wear my other sundress—the one with orange, yellow, and purple hues in it. I’m gonna accentuate it with the yellow open-toed sandals, yellow short-sleeved blouse, and the ladybug clip that Ray got me for my birthday back in February… oh, yeah—Vipress is gonna be color coordinated like a so-and-so this afternoon!
But that’s later on this afternoon. Right now, I’ve got time to talk to y’all about my home movie.
So, as per my plan, I was at home pretty much all day, watching all of the footage from start to finish. I had plumb forgotten that I created my own commercial ads—and while I’m on that subject, I want to show my appreciation towards Benjamin & Danielle Stewart for their time, effort, and dedication. They did an impromptu (and very much improvised) commercial about Cactus Cooler. I was crackin’ up when Mom was overselling how sweet the Cactus Cooler was, and Dad does his best Tyrese impersonation and says: “But Dani, it ain’t got nothin’ on yo-o-o-o-ou!” And then he wraps his arms around Mom and kisses her.
That’s one of those moments that truly make you go: Awwwwwwwwwww!
I also like the Fourth of July footage—all of it was absolutely wonderful. I especially like when Uncle Ronnie led the prayer, and paid a bit of a tribute to Grampa Clark at the end. After we said “Amen,” my Uncle Ronnie says: “All right, y’all—we ain’t never been shy, but ain’t never been rude, either, so dig in and fit in!”
With the exception of the “dig in and fit in” part, I don’t remember Grampa Clark saying the rest of that poetic piece.
Oh, and there’s some sweet footage that I recorded of my Auntie Cherri holding her namesake. If you recall, it was about five months ago when my Auntie Cherri saved a woman’s life and helped deliver her baby. Well, check this out: The lady, her husband, and their baby girl all came over to celebrate the Fourth with us. Y’all should’ve seen how Auntie Cherri got all bright-eyed when she cradled the little wonder in her arms. My auntie was all like: “Hi there, Little Namesake! You’re a precious little namesake, aren’t you?”
It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t test Auntie Cherri. I asked her if she would consider having another child, and Auntie Cherri gives me the look as if she wanted to say, “Oh—hell, no!” To keep from actually saying it, though, she simply told me to be grateful that she was holding the baby, to which I got tickled.
Alright, y’all—it’s time for me to check out so I can get ready for my date with my sweetie pie. I’m already confident that wherever Ray is taking me, I’m gonna have fun. Having said that, I’ll holla at y’all, but until then, take care and God Bless.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
