Cruise Control

Hi, Everyone!

So, my peeps are back as of yesterday evening. If y’all remember, I had the dorm room to myself all day yesterday. Ruby just got back around seven yesterday evening, and Theo spent the weekend with his roommate, who lives in Tupelo. I feel complete now, because “Three’s Company” is back in full force.

In correlation to the title of today’s blog post, I’ve been on cruise control since my Physical Science class this morning. Speaking of Physical Science, I missed only one question on my midterm. I know that I shouldn’t sweat it—and I don’t—but it kinda drives me crazy that I missed that one question, especially when I knew the answer. You see, the answer was “two,” and I had written that answer down previously, but then I second-guessed myself and wrote down “four.” Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered that I had the right answer all along. What’s even funnier is that my professor left me this little footnote:

“Natasha, you had the right answer all along. Sometimes you’ve got to stick to your guns and follow your first mind. Nevertheless, your work is exceptional.”

Oh, well—I can’t ask for anything more, now can I?

In other news (academically, that is), I have yet to hear about the results from my paper in Grammar & Comp II. I trust that my instructor enjoyed my paper about Mr. D, and how he has become an influential figure in my life. By the way, as a side note, my mom always had a crush on Mr. D, ever since she was thirteen years old. She said that even though she is happy with my dad, the teenage girl in her still carries a flame for Mr. D—she’s just sayin’!

And the final reason why I am on cruise control today: I’ve been given an extra day in my Fundamentals of Speech class. My instructor said that she would call on us at random, and I was not called on at all today. In a way, I’m glad that she didn’t call on me, because even though I was well prepared, I just didn’t feel like I was up to the task. All I have to do is explain why I chose to pursue my major… and believe me when I tell you, it’s a whole lot easier said than done. My speech instructor is looking to see if we went the distance. She wants us to answer the question, but she also wants us to elaborate more and give examples as to why we chose our major. With all of the added incentive that I have, you can best believe that I am well prepared to give this speech.

Well, y’all—I had better get going. I’ve been coastin’ all day and I wanna take full advantage of it, because Heaven only knows whether or not I’ll get this opportunity again. After all, tomorrow  is a brand-new day.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
