Going for Broke, Y'all!

Hi, Everyone!

So, I’m done with each and every one of my classes today. The weekend is here, and I’m gonna make the most of it.

By the way: For those of you who are inquiring of my rather unique photo for today’s blog, allow me to explain: Today is “Go For Broke” Day. When I looked on Google to find an apropos picture, this G.I. Joe poster was the first image that popped up for me. But anyway, there is only one rule for this wacky holiday:
Whatever it is that you desire to do but have been afraid to, today is the day to get over your fear and be bold—go ahead and do it.

Of course, I told Ruby and Theo all about this wacky holiday, and they both strongly suggested that if such is the case, then I should go for broke and ask Ray to be my boyfriend—they swear they got jokes! But truth be told, I haven’t heard from Ray since Valentine’s Day; likewise he hasn’t heard from me on account of I’ve been heavily involved in my academic studies. If it’s not a pop quiz, then it’s either a speech to prepare for, or a research paper in which I have to cite my references. I’ve been a very busy Rustite, as you can see… and I just checked my blog stats to see when the actual last time I mentioned my California sweetie pie. According to my blog stats, the last time I talked about Ray was on February 26—that’s when I told y’all how he sent me a sweet, encouraging letter.

I just want to state for the record that if this is what falling in love feels like, then I don’t want to lose this feeling at all. It’s like my Auntie Stephanie’s favorite song from one Christopher Williams: “Don’t wake me—I’m dreamin’!”

Yes, I know about Christopher Williams. I keep tellin’ y’all that I’m a big fan of the ol’ skool. I don’t know why y’all act so surprised!

Well, anyway: It’s about that time I call it a day. Besides, I want to take advantage of the rest of “Go For Broke” Day. Speaking of which, I have this one final thought as it relates to going for broke: Living might mean taking chances, but they’re worth taking. Loving might be a mistake, but it’s worth making. Go ahead and go for it; after all, the one who never took a chance, never really had a chance.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
