A Weekend With The Hudspeths, Tho!

Hi, Everyone!

Well, I’m back on the Rust College campus, and as per a Southern custom, I have brought along some food. Now, check this out: Mr. & Mrs. Hudspeth made fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and biscuits with a touch of cinnamon and sugar… oh, and some banana pudding for dessert. Over weekend, I weighed myself, and according to the scale, I am no longer 129 pounds. Somewhere between August and today, I put on seven pounds. Now, seeing as how I’m already four-feet-eleven inches tall, this extra seven pounds is probably gonna go to my hips. Just in case I didn’t mention this before, I’m already thick enough—I don’t think I need to be any thicker.

By the way: I want to state for the record that Gramma Jewel and Great Aunt Reesie have some surefire competition in the dessert department. We may have a new champion in the form of Mrs. Hudspeth’s banana pudding… I’m just sayin’!

Just in case y’all can’t tell, I had a great time with the Hudspeths, and I am looking forward to my next visit with them. I want to thank them for welcoming me into their home and for making me feel like their very own daughter. I’m sure that Mom and Dad are already appreciative of the hospitality that the Hudspeths shown me. I’m quite certain that Mom and Dad have already called to express their most sincere gratitude. In case they didn’t do so, Mr. & Mrs. Hudspeth should expect a call sometime this evening.

And now, it’s back to life and reality. My finals are coming up on Thursday, and if anything, I’m just looking forward to getting them over with. My anxiety is not so much if I will pass—my anxiety is more so along the lines of “Let’s just do the thing, yeah!” But as I heard in a song: “It’s gonna happen when it’s supposed to happen when we find the reason why, one step at a time.”

I get the feeling that Miss Jordin Sparks was inspired by the gospel hymn that says “we will understand it better, by and by.” Both songs seem to intertwine with one another.

Well, y’all, that’s gonna just about do it for me. I shall holla at you all tomorrow. Until then, keep your girl in your prayers.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
