Hi, Everyone!
It’s another special edition Saturday blog, and with good reason: First of all, Gramma Jewel’s best friend, Mrs. Thelma Jean Davis, is officially 82 years today. I want to take this time out and say: Happy Birthday, Mother Davis, and I pray that I look just as good as you when I hit 82. May The Lord continue to bless and keep you.
Also, I want to wish my cousin Calvin nothing but the best on his date with Miss Rebecca. Give her the charm that she deserves, Cal !
Well, I am having so much fun over here with the Hudspeths. I called Mom and Dad last night to let them know of my whereabouts, and automatically Mom asked to speak to Mrs. Hudspeth. They must’ve stayed on the phone until the cows came home. It must be a “Southern thang,” because it seems as though a fifteen minute visit can easily turn into a three-hour rendezvous. I’ve noticed that pattern ever since I was five years old. Gramma Jewel and Mother Davis hold four-hour phone conversations, Mom and Auntie Gloria talk on the computer just as long, and then there’s my two-hour sessions with Auntie Cherri. And look—don’t let one of us say the phrase: “Well, I guess I better get on up outta here, but remind me to tell you…” That’s another thirty minutes right there!
You know, I was so caught up that I forgot what I was talking about… hahahaha! Well, anyway—back to the lecture at hand.
As I was saying before I went on a tangent, Mr. & Mrs. Hudspeth have adopted me as their honorary daughter. I guess it’s official: I have another home out here in the South, just in case I can’t get to Great Aunt Reesie or Great Aunt Donna. Once again, The Lord is lookin’ out for little ol’ me, and I’m truly grateful.
Well, y’all, lemme go ahead and close this blog—I’m serious, though! I’m not gonna start another fifteen minute conversation… hahaha! Besides, Ruby and I need to study on account of Mr. & Mrs. Hudspeth are gonna quiz us!
Until Monday, y’all take care.
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
