So, here we are—December 1, 2012. It’s a very special day for someone in my family. My cousin Calvin has officially turned 21 years old. I already called and wished him a Happy Birthday, and he’s all like: “Yeah, that’s right—I’m officially grown!” And then I hear my Auntie Cherri in the background say: “You need to move your grown ass out my house then!”
I couldn’t help but laugh… even Calvin had to chuckle himself. Nevertheless, I want to say once again: Happy #21, Calvin. Celebrate it well, and may The Lord continue to bless you with many more birthdays.
Since this special Saturday edition blog is all about Cousin Calvin, I might as well share with you what he told me this morning. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he emphatically said: “If I can’t get a date with Jordin Sparks, then I’ll be happy if I get a date with Miss Rebecca!”
Yes, folks—Cousin Calvin has a crush on Gramma Jewel’s houseguest. I only have four words to say: Awwwwwwwww, that’s so cute! Personally, I think he has a chance with her. Heck, he even has a chance with Jordin Sparks—I’m just sayin’. But seriously, though: There’s nothing standing in his way, with the exception of space and opportunity. I wonder if Miss Rebecca knows that Calvin has a crush on her. My mom and my Auntie Cherri taught me that if a guy goes out of his way to talk to a girl and gets flustered, that’s a pretty good sign that he likes her. Trust me, I know this sign—Ray Hernandez has had a crush on me all four years of high school, and only three months ago did he finally admit to it. All I have to say to Cousin Calvin is: Take a chance and go for it! Ask her out… and give me all the details after y’all have your first date! Hahaha!
Well, that’s enough for today. However, I also want to make mention that, aside from my return to Cali , there’s another blockbuster happening in two weeks: I will witness Howard Allen Douglas and Jessica Dawn Torres get married. I am so excited for them… and I wonder if Ray would like to be my date?
Until next time, y’all have a great rest-of-the-weekend!
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
