Congratulations, Auntie Cherri!

Hi, Everyone!

I am still enjoying my couple days off here in Nashville, and for once, today’s blog is not about me… hahahaha! Today’s blog is dedicated to my Auntie Cherri… I know, I know—we had a spotlight on her a couple of days ago, but we’re gonna put that spotlight on her once again, on account of she is being recognized today as a Good Samaritan back home. You know, I made mention of it earlier this week, but I didn’t talk much about it because so much was going on with me. However, there’s no time like the present to talk about Auntie Cherri’s heroic act.

For the record, y’all know how bad I wish that I could be there in person to help celebrate Auntie Cherri, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I’m doing the next best thing and featuring her in my blog today!

For a little over a week, it has been said that Auntie Cherri was in the right place at the right time. She had just clocked out for lunch and was crossing the street when she noticed a pregnant woman crossing with her suddenly fell ill. Right before the pregnant woman hit the pavement, Aunt Cherri displayed amazing strength as she carried the woman over shoulders and across the street to safety. Reports say that Auntie Cherri instructed someone to dial 9-1-1 while she checked the woman for a pulse. According to Auntie Cherri, the woman came to, and immediatley (as well as surprisingly) went into labor. Not even thinking of her own well-being, much less her surroundings, Auntie Cherri rolled up her sleeves and helped deliver the woman’s baby. By the time paramedics arrived, a baby girl had been born, and Auntie Cherri went on to accompany the woman and her newborn, just to make sure that they were well taken care of.

It wasn’t until after everything had settled down that Auntie Cherri realized she needed to go back to work. Imagine her surprise when her supervisor saw the news on television, and granted her the rest of the day off. Like a trooper, though, Auntie Cherri still returned to her job—and by the way, she still hadn’t eaten a thing, but this time, her hunger pangs were masked by her nerves. She was still on an adrenaline rush from the excitement in the day.

It is to my understanding that the City of Long Beach is recognizing Auntie Cherri as a Good Samaritan, and I also have it on good record that the woman will be there to express her gratitude.

As for me, I just want to say: Congratulations, Auntie Cherri—You Just Go, Girl!

Until Monday, y’all have a great rest-of-the-weekend.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
