Return to Nashville

Hi, Everyone—and a Happy Friday to y’all here in Nashville!

By the way: It is 35 degrees out here, and it's also snowing! I am so excited... finally, I have seen it snow, and it is so gorgeous! I kinda want to go outside and build a snowman, but right now I need some hot chocolate with marshmallows and a warm fire.

Okay, Cousin Jade just said to me: "We don't have a fireplace, so you'll have to settle for the heater."

As long as it takes the chill off, I don't care... it is freakin' freezin'!

This is only my third trip here overall, but every chance I get to visit Nashville, I enjoy it that much more. However, I must admit that I feel bad for my homey Theo. You see, he’s more or less stuck at the campus this whole weekend. He told me and Ruby yesterday that he’s gonna feel so lost without us.

Awwwwwww, bless his little heart—Neo Theo’s gonna be lonely. But then again, I don’t think Miss Olivia is going back home this weekend (she’s from Oklahoma), so perhaps Theo won’t be too lonely. Oh, speaking of Theolivia (that’s what Ruby and I call Theo and Olivia), they had a nice first date a couple weeks ago. Theo wouldn’t give us too many details, and the only thing that Olivia would say was that Theo was “every woman’s dream.”

Methinks Miss Olivia is smitten over Theo. I ain’t judgin’—I’m just sayin’!

Anyway, I don’t have much news to report today, and that’s because I am having such a good time with Great Aunt Reesie, Cousin Jade, and Cousin Erica. Oh, speaking of Cousin Erica, she has three acceptance letters from Fisk University, Tennessee State University, and University of Memphis. She hasn’t heard anything from Rust just yet, but we got to talking about how cool that would be if we went to Rust together, and Great Aunt Reesie just jumped all over that idea. Just in case y’all forgot, Gramma Jewel and Great Aunt Reesie both attended Rust, albeit two years from each other. Cousin Erica and I are only one year apart, but if history repeats itself, then this will be the first time in fiftysomething years that a generation has kept with the Bearcat legacy. Of course, Cousin Erica has already stated that she wants to go to Fisk University, but now that these other colleges have approved of her admission, it’s really time to weigh those pros and cons. I can already tell you: Cousin Jade has already expressed her concerns regarding finances and tuition. She’s looking at which college is most affordable. Great Aunt Reesie has already made her point perfectly clear: It doesn’t matter which college is the most affordable or the closest—as long as her onliest grandbaby gets her college education.

Hey, that’s fair enough—and that’s just the conversation I had with my mom, dad, and Gramma Jewel just this past year.

Well, y’all, I hate to cut it short, but I gotta do so. Besides, Cousin Jade is gonna treat me to another tour of Nashville, and then later we’re all gonna hit up Ryan’s—ooohhhhh, yeeeaaaahhhh!

Talk to y’all later!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
