A Weekend of Celebrations

Hi, Everyone… and Happy Saturday!

This weekend is nothing but celebration upon celebration. It began yesterday with Becky finally achieving a personal goal of obtaining her high school diploma—and I want to say that I have never been more proud of my honorary big sister. And check this out: She was the valedictorian of her class, y’all! In her speech, she talked about her struggles growing up and how she prayed that things would get better. She never imagined that her prayer would be answered through a one-month hospital stay, nor did she imagine that “a sweet, little silver-haired lady with dark purple glasses and a great big heart of gold” would welcome her in her home with open arms and adopt her as part of the family. With that said, Becky publicly announced that she was eternally grateful to Gramma Jewel.

“You took a chance on me when I was at the very lowest point in my life, and I will never forget that,” Becky said as with tears of joy. “Thank you so much, Aunt Tea—I love you so much!”

If y’all know Gramma Jewel like I do, then y’all already know that she got up from her seat and boldly walked up to the front to give Becky a big hug and kiss.

The other milestone that we’re celebrating is… actually taking place on tomorrow, and it has everything to do with a certain gentleman named Benjamin David Stewart. In case y’all missed that, allow me to make it plain: Tomorrow is my daddy’s birthday, y’all—he’s gonna be 42 years old. If Dad thought that he was pampered (for lack of a better term) on Father’s Day, then he’s certainly in for a big surprise come tomorrow’s special blog. I’m gonna break it down for him, as only I can! I think I mentioned once upon a time that I’m truly a “Daddy’s Girl” at heart—well, if my special Father’s Day blog left any doubt, then just y’all wait until tomorrow. You know, I’ve made this statement once upon a time, and it still rings true: Long before Ray, the original man in my life was, is, and always will be my daddy, Benjamin David Stewart.

Okay, y’all—it’s time for me to close this here blog, but I shall definitely holla at y’all in a little while… and by “a little while,” I mean tomorrow. Until then, y’all have a good rest-of-the-weekend.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
