Actin' Like My Gramma Jewel, Tho!

Hi, Everyone!

I’ve been working like mad since 6:30am this morning, y’all! I actually cooked breakfast for my mom and dad, and they were really ravin’ about it. All I made was biscuits, sausage links, and scrambled eggs, with some apricot-pineapple preserves. After Mom and Dad left, I made myself a bacon-and-egg sandwich, then I felt compelled to clean up the kitchen and vacuum all the rooms of the house. I think I got done with everything by ten-thirty this morning.

And I want to state for the record that this little bright-eyed vipress is tired as hell!

I thought about getting out of the house and going to the library, but right now I cannot move. All that housework that I did—and I intentionally didn’t do the windows—I just need to rest it up for a minute. It’s amazing that I found the strength to write this blog. I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, though—I’m almost compelled to cut it short, based on how I’m feeling right now. Somehow or other, I’m finding the strength to keep on writing.

Oh, here’s the funny thing: As I was cleaning up, I found myself singing one of those congregational hymns like my Gramma Jewel. I was mopping the kitchen floor, and I just started humming “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand.” And while I admit that I am no Yolanda Adams, I gotta say that I could hear myself clearly… I was in pretty good voice, too! I don’t know what happened; I just remember singing the following song:

Time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand.
Build your hopes on things eternal—hold to God’s Unchanging Hand.

And I kinda got tickled, because for some reason, I just burst out and said:

“Y’all betta just hold to His Hand—God’s Unchanging Hand.
Hold to His Hand—God’s Unchanging Hand.
You betta just build your hopes on things eternal…
Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand!”

Oh, I was feelin’ it, y’all!

And then it hit me: Gramma Jewel must’ve been trying to reach my spirit or something. As a matter of fact, I’d better call her and tell her about the morning I had. I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow!

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
