Move Over, Thelma & Louise!

Good Evening, Good People!

Let me start off this blog by simply saying: Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon ain’t got nothin’ on my Gramma Jewel and Ms. Thelma… and if you’ve ever seen the movie that they starred in, then y’all know what I’m talkin’ about!

It never ceases to amaze me that Gramma Jewel and Ms. Thelma keep it highly entertaining, and that’s just putting it mildly. As you know, Becky and I tagged along with the two spirited senior citizens this afternoon, and Becky is my witness—the car trip alone was entertaining. Y’all ain’t gonna believe this (maybe some of you will), but Gramma Jewel was bumpin’ Ice Cube’s “You Know How We Do It” all loud; she and Ms. Thelma were even singin’ along. And check this out: We were at a red light, and this car with kids my age were lookin’ rather shocked that Gramma Jewel and Ms. Thelma were boppin’ to the rhythm… and y’all shoulda heard Gramma Jewel singin’ along, though!

“That ain’t poppin’, ain’t no stoppin’, fo-hoppin’ ass-droppin’ Coup DeVille—WHAT?!”

I tell y’all—it was just hilarious, and at the same time, it was kinda cute.

But what was even funnier was when Becky asked Gramma Jewel what she knew about Cube, to which Gramma Jewel looked and chuckled, and then Ms. Thelma turns to us and says: “Girls, y’all know how we do it!”

I was completely done for by then!

All in all, it was a beautiful afternoon that was well spent with the people I love… oh, and check this out: I don’t know if this was happenstance or coincidence, but Ms. Thelma emphatically declared that she and Gramma Jewel were actually thinking about pitching a movie idea to Hollywood entitled Thelma & Jewel. I’ll let y’all guess who would play the role of Thelma—but then I got to thinking: Can you imagine if World Wrestling Entertainment were to have a match at SummerSlam or something, in which the special attraction would be Thelma & Jewel vs. Thelma & Louise? Just the mere thought of it tickles me to no end!

Well, I guess I had better close this blog and work some more on my home movie, then I’ll turn it in for tonight. Oh, that reminds me—Fourth of July is next week! Woo-woo-woo—it’s gonna be on and crack-a-lackin, y’all! Looks like my family is gonna be on TV before we know it!

Take care, and I’ll holla at y’all tomorrow.

Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
