Howdy-Doo, Peeps!
It is a lovely Wednesday afternoon out here in L.A., and I’m doing what I do best: I’m chillin’ in the library, looking through my journal and reflecting on the fun that I have had over the past couple months. Seeing as how I’ve now got officially four days left until my Rust College return, my summer vacation has slowed down a touch… well, at least for today, tomorrow, and Friday. It’s gonna pick up tremendously on Saturday, though, as I’ve got a date with my sweetie pie Ray Hernandez. He says that he wants to give me the proper send-off back to Bearcat Country, so he’s treating me to a tour around Hollywood, as well as a trip back to the Griffith Park Observatory. And get this: Ray also told me to make sure that I look my “absolute bestest.” It’s funny he said that, because I am planning to wear one of my sundresses. I hope that the weather is sundress appropriate, but just in case it’s not, I’m still gonna look my absolute bestest—because that’s what I do!
Speaking of my Rust College return, I’ve been packing a little bit here and there, just so I won’t be too far behind. Everything that I need for my dorm is under Auntie Gladys’ care in Memphis, so I’m pretty much straight. And yes, y’all—I already packed Ruby and Theo’s t-shirts in my luggage. To tell y’all the truth, that was the very first thing that I packed (LOL). Of course, I’ll be taking my home movie back to Rust with me, just to show it off to Ruby and Theo. And I’ve been checking my finances since I’ve been home, and it surprises me that I haven’t spent a whole lot of money. I may have spent roughly fifty dollars in these past two months, and I lie to y’all not—that doesn’t even bruise my budget, let alone leave a dent in it. Oh, lemme tell y’all something: When it comes to finances, I am extremely careful when it comes to spending. Now, I’m not gonna tell y’all how much I have saved up, but I will say that it’s enough for me to last until at least Thanksgiving.
Oh, I don’t squander my money at all, unless it’s on food and smoothies—and even that’s few and far between.
