Hey, Y’all!
So, we just got back home about twenty minutes ago—and I want to state for the record once again: Whenever Gramma Jewel and Mother Davis are in the house, it’s a surefire party up in this piece!
As you know, we were all invited to a baby shower for Miss Wendy, the IHOP waitress. It was a lovely celebration for her, and you could tell that she was having so much fun. The girls and I even got to touch Miss Wendy’s tummy and talk to her baby, and Miss Wendy was just giggling and glowing. And check this out: When Gramma Jewel touched Miss Wendy’s tummy, the baby kicked! No lie—each and every last one of us witnessed it. Miss Wendy said that it’s because Gramma Jewel has been around for quite some time now that the baby recognizes her voice.

Awwwwwww, Gramma Jewel is still a legend everywhere she goes!
Oh, before I forget: Miss Wendy told us that she and her husband had both agreed that they did not want to know the baby’s gender right now; they would much rather wait until after the baby is born so they could be surprised together. However, they have already decided on some names. If they have a boy, then his name will be Joseph Thomas. If the baby is a girl, then her name will be Veronica Lynn. In my own humble opinion, they picked out some lovely names. Of course, I’ll already be away at college once they baby is born, but Miss Wendy told me that she would keep in touch with Gramma Jewel and Mother Davis, and they would keep us in the loop.
Oh, speaking of Mother Davis, she volunteered her services to be Miss Wendy’s caretaker from now until Miss Wendy’s baby is born. As a matter of fact, Mother Davis put it real simple: “I may not be able to drive, but you can bet your bottom last dollar that I ain’t none shamed of takin’ a bus or a taxi to your house and take care of you and your little one, Honey!”
Mother Davis is just a gem, is all!
Well, everyone—it’s time for me to hang it up, but I’ll be hollin’ later on tomorrow evening, like sometime after church. Until then, y’all take care, and be good so good can come back to you!
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
