Wow! What a time I’m having with Gramma Jewel and my girls!
It all began yesterday evening when we had pork chops, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, green beans, green salad, and garlic cheesy bread for dinner. Here’s the kicker to all of that: We helped Gramma Jewel cook it all. We just sat around the dinner table, eating and laughing away—oh, and I gotta thank Cousin Nessa for thinking about dessert; she brought along a banana cream pie from Marie Callender’s. I stand on record to tell y’all: There’s only one piece left… hahahahaha!
And of course, there’s Gramma Jewel’s latest Friday morning tradition; she probably talks about it on her Facebook page! That’s right, y’all—this morning, we picked up Mother Davis, and then we headed over to IHOP. I gotta say: Gramma Jewel and Mother Davis definitely rock the party that rocks the body—it’s true, it’s true! From what our waitress Miss Wendy told us, Gramma Jewel and Mother Davis keep it lively in IHOP… and then again, Gramma Jewel’s first name is Vivian, which is Greek for “vivacious and lively,” and Mother Davis is just a wonder all by herself, so it really doesn’t come as a surprise to me that those two ladies keep it thoroughly entertained.
Do y’all know that we stayed up in IHOP until about 12 noon? Now, check this out: We arrived at IHOP around 9:15 a.m., and the place was not even full to capacity. And before I forget, I just want to say that Miss Wendy is a soldier and a half; she’s due between now and next month, but she’s still waitressing like a boss. As a matter of fact, her last day of work is officially today; she’s going out on maternity leave. Amazingly enough, her baby shower is tomorrow, and Gramma Jewel has already told us that we’re all going. I think this is gonna be interesting because I don’t think I’ve ever gone to one—actually, on second glance, I’ve never attended a baby shower, so this should really be fun!
Well, that’s gonna just about do it for me today. In a little while, we’re gonna order pizza and wings, and tell stories around the living room coffee table… hahaha! This is actually Gramma Jewel’s idea; she wants us to turn off all of our “electronical” devices and just talk and fellowship with one another. Unless I stand corrected, she said: “I’m gonna show y’all how it was when I was growin’ up and we ain’t have no TV.”
Gramma Jewel is so very ol’ skool!

Okay, y’all—it’s been fun. I’ll holla at y’all sometime tomorrow… Smooches!
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
