Oh my goodness, y’all—today is August 3, 2013!
As you know, I go back to Rust in about two weeks. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I am so excited to go back! I know, I know—I had said upon my Cali return about two months ago that I didn’t want to even think about Rust until the time drew near. Well, the time can’t be no nearer than right now. I am really excited about my return to Bearcat Country, mainly because of two people—Ruby Red and Neo Theo.
I’ve heard from Ruby once since my return, and I left a message for Theo just the other day. I’m very certain that their summer vacations were just as good as mine. I also know that we’re gonna be sharing all kinds of stories when we get back to the campus. I get the feeling that we’re gonna be overtalking each other, trying to see who had the better summer vacation and why? I remember hearing about an old program called “Can You Top This?” Well, I am very certain that I’m gonna top Ruby, then Ruby’s gonna top Theo, and then Theo is gonna top me.
Oh, this will be most interesting!
And my home movie project seems to be getting larger and larger by the moment. It seems as though everytime I finish recording one segment, I get a new idea for another segment. As a matter of fact, I woke up this morning around 7am and watched the movie from start to finish. Again, I’m no expert when it comes to splicing certain segments and making special effects and all, but from what I saw, this home movie was pretty dang good. And I totally forgot that I recorded Gramma Jewel singing her version of “In the Upper Room” by Mahalia Jackson at her church—she really did a great job, and that’s the stone cold truth. Also, I was laughing my tail off when I watched the segment of my Uncle Ronnie doing his best impersonation of Charlie Wilson from the Gap Band. He was singing “Burn Rubber On Me, Charlene” at our Fourth of July party in Long Beach, and he was singing so hard that I almost dropped my camcorder.
By the way: If y’all don’t think I’m gonna take this tape with me back to Rust to show Ruby and Theo, then y’all don’t know Natasha Renee Stewart!
Well, that’s gonna do it for today’s blog. I don’t have a lot to do today, nor am I running out of stuff, but I’m getting some stuff together for my Summertime Slumber Party next weekend over at Gramma Jewel’s. The only reason why I’m just now talking about it, is because I was busy with Vacation Bible School and my Cradle Roll class, but the girls and I have decided that we’re gonna have our slumber party on next Thursday; we’re gonna stay with Gramma Jewel for at least five days max. This will actually work out for both me and Becky, seeing as how I go back to Rust on August 19, and she officially starts her college journey a week after me. And I cannot forget my twin cousins Matt and Trish; this is their last year in college, and they’ll be graduating in May of 2014. And y’all should see how excited my Uncle Gregory and Auntie Gloria are for their twins—hell, I’m excited for them, because after they graduate, the last on the totem pole (in terms of grandchildren) is yours truly!
Okay, y’all—I’ve talked enough. I had better get going for real this time, but until tomorrow, y’all have a good rest-of-the-day. Smooches!
Hugs & Kisses,
Natasha
